When an organization decides to forego profits and register with the IRS as a charitable organization, it’s not a snap decision. Every school that has been granted 501(c)(3) status by the IRS has undergone an intensive process that includes publicly declaring a unique mission statement - a set of ideals through which every decision is filtered.
The schools of the WSSA have unique missions, unique settings, and unique opportunities to enrich the lives of the students and communities they touch.
Honesty is the Best Policy.
Non-profit schools are required by law to publish their finances for all to see. This radical level of transparency forces each school to account for every penny, and to put each of them back into the school’s own programs. Do you know where your school’s money goes?
